Making Memories Before the Sweaters Come Out
It’s that time of year again. The sun is setting a little earlier, the night air has a crisp, pre-autumnal feel, and the stores are already plastered with pumpkin spice everything. While some folks are eager to embrace the cozier seasons, let’s be honest, we’d be foolish to let these last few weeks of warmth slip through our fingers. After all, the sweaters and snow tires will be here soon enough, and you’ll be complaining about it just as much as I will. So, before we get there, why not squeeze every last drop of adventure out of our beloved Bay of Quinte?
There is still so much to see and do! Why not start with a serene paddle on the Trent River or the Bay itself? The water’s still plenty warm, and a lazy afternoon floating along is exactly what the doctor ordered. If you prefer to keep your feet on solid ground, there’s a reason we’re known for our rural charm. Grab your bike and hit one of our many gravel trails, or better yet, visit a local farm for some berry picking or to wander through a field of beautiful, locally grown flowers. What’s more Canadian than supporting your neighbour and getting a little dirt on your boots? That’s the entrepreneurial spirit we love around here.

For a truly authentic local experience, dive headfirst into one of our farmers’ markets. The produce is at its peak, and every dollar you spend there goes directly to the hardworking folks who make this region such a fantastic place to call home. It’s an experience worth having and an investment in your community.
This is just a small taste of what’s still out there. We’ve got so much to offer, and with the summer winding down, there’s no better time to get out there and discover it.
To help you out, the good people at BayofQuinte.ca have put together the definitive Summer Bucket List. You can find the full list of adventures, from geocaching to pickleball, by visiting their page to find your next great local escape. Go make a memory.
